FREEDOM OF SPEECH, BECK & PEE PEE

Glenn Beck
First, lets get this issue out of the way, the First Amendment guarantees the right to free speech, however, it does not guarantee the speech will be palatable or in good taste. For those of you that may need a refresher, please take a moment and read the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Now that the basics are out of the way.

The point Glenn Beck made was about liberal hypocrisy when it comes to free speech. A point the left confirmed as the windbags shouted from their perches in Obamaland about how Beck was so disrespectful to the President, forgetting how they excoriated Pres.George W. Bush, casting him as a monkey for example.

On Beck's radio show the audience was informed about Michael D'Antuono, an artist in Boston who
displayed a painting at at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery that features President Obama depicted as Jesus Christ in a crucifixion position and wearing a crown of thorns.

As Beck pondered whether or not people on the left would agree with him, He decided to to put it to the test and to create his own piece of art with Obama as the star.

FREE SPEECH

The kicker is Beck agreed with the artist.

According to Beck, He reasoned the first amendment should override people’s hurt feelings over the image, so he decided to be creative with his own artwork.

Beck and I agree that the right for a person to paint a picture of Obama as Christ is protected by the Constitution. Beck further said,"That document says I can’t stop him, and the spirit of that document is that I shouldn’t try.”

Glenn Beck's "Obama in Pee Pee"
“Art is in the eye of the beholder and this guy has a right to do this. I think its offensive. I don’t think its close to reality but whatever floats your boat. I support his right to do exactly that. I agree with him that people who are upset should not trump his right to be able to do it and be able to hang it wherever he wants – as long as its wanted there.”

E-BAY TWIST
As Reported in The Examiner with information from The Blaze: A jar of what appeared to be Blaze media mogul Glenn Beck's urine with a President Obama toy in it is already going for $11,300 on eBay - and bids are rapidly rising.

According to Beck the jar is "art," his reaction to reports of a painting of President Obama as Jesus Christ. The auction was posted on eBay with bidding beginning at $5.00.

A link to the eBay auction was posted on Beck's website, explaining that the auction would benefit Mercury One and their Hope for the Holidays fund.

A report on The Blaze website explained that the urine is "fake," and his "art" is only part of his effort "to highlight the hypocrisy of those who would shout in defiance at defacing the image of a sitting U.S. president, but not that of an image so sacred to Christianity."

E-BAY PULLS
"You listed an item that contains urine," read the note from eBay to Beck's Charity (now posted on the Blaze.) "We do not allow the sale of bodily waste. Please do not relist."

But as the Blaze confirmed earlier the "urine" was actually "fake," not Beck's actual urine.
